S&M’s Book Obsessions

This is the 4th book in the Beautiful Bastard series… and a novella at only 160 pages. Beautiful Bombshell is about Bennett’s bachelor party in Vegas with Max, Henry, and Will. The boys decide Valentine’s weekend is the only time they can all get together to celebrate, so they okay it with the girls and take off. Meanwhile, Chloe and Sara find a way to surprise the guys and spend Valentine’s with their men.

“I love knowing no one else can make you this wet.”

This novella was really cute and it was fun to dive back into the Bastard books. Each chapter is told from either Bennett’s or Max’s perspective, so you get a little bit of the controlling and the sweet. We also get a little sneak peek of Will in this book, which is a good build up for the next book in the series. I don’t want to give too much away but the guys know how to party in Vegas.

The sex in this book is hot. I was shocked at how much fucking was shoved into this novella. There are several scenes described in lots of detail, but the best part is that you got the dominating commands of Bennett and yet you still got the sweet sexy romance of Max. It was steamy as hell and totally worth it for a short read. I love the sex between Bennett and Chloe and I was so glad we were given more of them.

“You’re so fucking beautiful when you come, Chlo. Feel how hard you get me.”

This novella was a great addition to the series and I would definitely recommend it to anyone who has read the other books. It was funny and cute, but it also had the heat to go with it. While the sex is incredible and it was good to revisit the characters, I didn’t learn much of anything that was new to the series. I would have liked more revealing of what happens next, but I’m sure that’s probably getting saved for the full length novel. If you haven’t read this series yet, be sure and read the previous books before this one. It’s not intended as a stand-alone… and the Beautiful Bastard books are amazing. I can’t wait for Beautiful Player due out at the end of October.

I think I might need a Xanax. This book almost killed me… One second I would be horny as shit and the next I thought I was going to have a heart attack. To be honest, I wasn’t expecting that much from the book. I had read the first book in the series and just found it ok. In fact, I had a few problems with making the connection of why the couple spent so many years apart so when I finished with the first I wasn’t that impressed. At the time, I had no clue there would be a second because the first did end in a happily ever after, but I just wasn’t fulfilled. Well I was wrong. Cynthia Eden made me understand this time around and I finally seemed to really get Trace.

“You were my dream, when I was in a nightmare.”

Skye Sullivan and Trace Weston went through a lot in the last book. Both of them are still shaken from the ordeal and are trying to get their lives back to normal and just be together finally. The only problem is Trace seems to have a darker past than we thought and it starts to bleed into their lives.

He looked at his hands “I still have blood here, and you know the only time I ever feel clean? It’s when I’m touching you. You make me feel like I can be someone else.”

Trace had a mission go bad for him and his team years ago. Some of his own people turned on him and he had to do things that still haunt him to this day. Now it seems someone is after him for his past and everyone knows his one and only weakness is Skye. He is afraid that if Skye finds out about the things he did she will see how truly dark he is and will look at him differently.

What was so great about the suspense in the book was that it kept me on edge, never knowing who or what might be coming next, but it didn’t overshadow the love story. In my opinion, it was done perfectly and I never found myself rushing through the action… I wanted all of it. I’m not a huge Romantic Suspense fan, but god I loved this one.

“You don’t get it! Skye is my one thing- the only thing- that is good in my world. Everything else is built on death and blood. She matters. She makes me feel like I matter.”

My favorite thing about this book was Trace’s obsession for Skye. It was crazy fucking hot. I felt like at times he wanted to crawl inside her and just stay forever. Their sex had so much passion I swear I could feel it at times. He couldn’t control how much he wanted her sometimes and it was animalistic and I could not get enough of it… I even went back and re-read a few of the sex scenes. I liked Trace in the first book, but this one made me love him. It was like Skye was his everything and he would do anything to keep her and make her happy because without her he just wasn’t whole.

“I warned you.” His voice was different. Stilted.
She found the strength to turn her head a few inches and looked back at him. His face appeared leaner, harder.
“Next time…” Skye heard herself say, “fuck me hard.”
His body tensed. “Skye.” And he started to fuck her again.

I was intrigued by every freaking character Cynthia Eden introduced us to. I kept thinking “Please don’t kill this one he/she needs a book too!” I’m dying to get my hands on the next book because I got a good look at the heroine’s past and I know it’s going to be crazy and sexy as hell.
